Tell us about the pattern. Sizing? This pattern comes in two size ranges 4-10 and 10-18. I used the 14 and added extra insurance room in the hip area.

Why did you choose this pattern? Well, initially I was all about keeping cool in the sun, and hiding lumps and bumps. Perhaps- just maybe- I was also channeling my younger, not 50 year old self! I liked- the simplicity of it, the clean lines. No zipper (except I opted to add one- see below), no buttons, no topstitching. Quick and easy. And it was!
The pattern envelope describes it thus...AB- slim fitting with gathered front and contrast neck bands. B -3/4 length sleeves, gathered self ruffle on sleeve. C - Short bell sleeves, v-neck band. I made View A - sleeveless with the contrast band, buy paxil without prescription.

Version 1 The cotton I used for this dress was very lightweight, so I opted to underline it with cotton batiste. I used a very tiny seam allowance because I wanted the contrast collar to be as wide as possible. Below that I clipped to the seam allowance, and sewed to the hemline right sides together. I then topstiched black ribbon on the edge of the zippertape - adding some more interest and adding the extra bit of width that I thought was needed. Romni (658 Queen Street Wes) is a bit of a hike down the street, but well worth it for anyone who is an avid knitter, There is a huge array of wools, and the biggest book/pattern area I have ever seen in a knitting store.

Crossing the street and heading back towards Spadina, there are a few antique type shops. Take a gander in if you have a minute- we had a hoot snooping to see if we could find anything sewing related. L A Fabrics (495 Queen W) is my go-to bridal goods store. I have purchased silks and lace fabrics for dresses for the three of the fiveblondes who are married. You can find amazing special occasion fabrics here and in the back room are wools galore. There is even a collection of Liberty fabrics if you are a Liberty fan.

The last two stores on before you get back to Spadina are little hole in the wall stores where, if you know what you are looking for, have just the right interfacing, button or gadget. Don’t overlook them if you have the time.

Once you get to Spadina, turn right and bang into the guy who is waving around 10% discount cards for King Textiles. He has been there every single time I have been on that corner! King Textiles (on Richmond), while not on Queen W, is worth a visit. It is a large store, and while the fabric quality isn’t as high as some of the other stores, I would suggest you drop in. If you need pleating done, they advertise that service too.

So there you have it. A sewing enthusiasts five minute guide to fabric shopping on Queen Street West in Toronto. There are other places in T-dot to get some wonderful yardages, but they will have to wait for another time.

I have been craving a lovely length of red wool double knit. I got this at Couture Elle.
